Rep Weiner on President's Decision to Withhold Postmortem Photos of Bin Laden

“We Shouldn’t Release Photos to Satisfy the Morbid Curiosity of Conspiracy Theorists”

Today, following news that President Barack Obama will withhold post-mortem photos of Osama Bin Laden, Rep. Anthony D. Weiner (D – Queens and Brooklyn) released the following statement:

“The President did the right thing – Osama bin Laden is dead. Period. We shouldn’t release photos of his body just to satisfy the morbid curiosity of conspiracy theorists.”

“With Public Enemy #1 finally gone, we should instead focus on coming together as a country. That is why today I look forward to joining the President, heroic first responders and their friends and families as we honor those who lost their lives on September 11^th.”
